Snow Shoe ear rings

These snow shoe ear rings are made out of birch, gathered from the land we cleared for our cabin.

They are each steamed, bent, shaped into a snow shoe.

They are laced with care and are very light.

The threads used are sulky or metallic.


They sell for $40.00 a pair.




Woman's sewing bag

A replica of our Upper Tanana sewing bags. They used flour sack or any material they had on hand and decorated it with beads. It is used to carry the needles, threads(sinew) and other sewing items on the trips to their camps.

They sell for $30.00 each.




 



Dream Catcher

But we call them Sun catcher as we use a crystal in the center sometimes to catch a glimpse of the sun when hung in the window.
These vary in prices according to size.

The mini's are $20.00 each and the larger 3" are $35.00 each.




 



Wall Hanging

The wall hanging made out of all fur, all types of fur, rabbit, mink, beaver, squirrel just a mixture of fur to make this wall hanging of an Eskimo woman packing her baby.
Has some wool fabric, some beading all placed on a rabbit hide.
Has a strip of leather and dowel for the hanger.

Shadow Boxes

This is an Athabascan drum and stick made from birch.
Bent and steamed the traditional method of the Upper Tanana Athabascans.
Our traditional drums were made out of caribou/and moose hide stretched on a birch base.

This shadow box is of a pair of snow shoes made out of birch, steamed and bent the traditional Upper Tanana Athabascan way.

Shadow Boxes


This is of a bow, arrows and quiver. The quiver is made out of leather and painted with a design of person choice.
The arrows have obsidian tips. The bow and arrows are made out of birch.


These sell for $175.00 each.





Birch Bark Baskets


These birch bark baskets were made the traditional Upper Tanana Athabascan way. Using birch bark, willow for strength around the top and laced with spruce root. Long ago they were used for cooking purposes and for gathering and storing berries. Today they are used mostly for decorative purposes.


Small: 3x3x2" or 4x3x3" $25.00
Medium: 5-51/2x3x21/2" approx $45.00
Large: 5-7x4-5x4-5" approx. $65.00
Flat and curved baskets: $75.00
